1. Creativity and InnovationStudents demonstrate creative thinking, construct knowledge, and develop innovative products and processes using technology.
Students:
A. apply existing knowledge to generate new ideas, products, or processes.
B. create original works as a means of personal or group expression.
C. use models and simulations to explore complex systems and issues.
D. identify trends and forecast possibilities.
Blogging was a new knowledge for me in terms of using ET. Pages of all students in our class are different, showing their individual creative way of thinking. I made a podcast before, so I was able to apply the knowledge I had in a new situation (the project about St. Petersburg).
2. Communication and CollaborationStudents use digital media and environments to communicate and work collaboratively, including at a distance, to support individual learning and contribute to the learning of others.
Students:
A. interact, collaborate, and publish with peers, experts, or others employing a variety of digital environments and media.
B. communicate information and ideas effectively to multiple audiences using a variety of media and formats.
C. develop cultural understanding and global awareness by engaging with learners of other cultures.
D. contribute to project teams to produce original works or solve problems.
ET give a lot of instruments for communication and collaboration. The ones we use in our class are WebCT, Twitter, and SL. This is how we learn about the latest news, new assignments, and activities. SL gave us a wonderful chance to have an on-line class that turned to be very engaging and interactive.
3. Research and Information FluencyStudents apply digital tools to gather, evaluate, and use information.
Students:
A. plan strategies to guide inquiry.
B. locate, organize, analyze, evaluate, synthesize, and ethically use information from a variety of sources and media.
C. evaluate and select information sources and digital tools based on the appropriateness to specific tasks.
D. process data and report results.
In this case You Tube, Google Search, Wikipedia and the use of the Bullean Search are very helpful to me.
4. Critical Thinking, Problem-Solving, and Decision-Making
Students use critical thinking skills to plan and conduct research, manage projects, solve problems, and make informed decisions using appropriate digital tools and resources.
Students:
A. identify and define authentic problems and significant questions for investigation.
B. plan and manage activities to develop a solution or complete a project.
C. collect and analyze data to identify solutions and/or make informed decisions.
D. use multiple processes and diverse perspectives to explore alternative solutions.
I think my blog where I can put all exciting for me information and use it later for my projects is what I want to talk about here. I choose the information to put on my blog and figure out how to use it later, and to what extend it can be helpful to me and my classmates in our work.
5. Digital CitizenshipStudents understand human, cultural, and societal issues related to technology and practice legal and ethical behavior.
Students:
A. advocate and practice safe, legal, and responsible use of information and technology.
B. exhibit a positive attitude toward using technology that supports collaboration, learning, and productivity.
C. demonstrate personal responsibility for lifelong learning.
D. exhibit leadership for digital citizenship.
We did it at Dr. D’s class: we rea the Netiquette rules, and made our own group rules that made our group work and the work with the other groups later easier.
6. Technology Operations and ConceptsStudents demonstrate a sound understanding of technology concepts, systems, and operations.
Students:
A. understand and use technology systems.
B. select and use applications effectively and productively.
C. troubleshoot systems and applications.
D. transfer current knowledge to learning of new technologies.
Now I know pretty much about ET and can use them for my various purposes. I think it’s not about knowing or not knowing about certain technologies. My attitude changed: I accept new for me things as a challenge, and I’m not afraid of not knowing about them any more. I know that I can find out how it works, and use it.
This materials should go to the wiki page. I reorganized it a little bit and placed all the emergent technologies our group found in a new blog. The Wiki page looks boring and colorless to me.
